New life in the wild world

So now we are well into May we are seeing a lot of new life appearing in the animal world and we can see parents darting here, there and everywhere collecting food for their young.
In our garden we have house sparrows nesting under the eaves of the house and its lovely to hear the chirping of the babies. The parents are busy looking after their brood.

We have a pair of grey squirrels setting up in the large conifer in the neighbours garden at the back of our house, I'd imagine they are settling down for a birth soon, also the wood pigeons are setting up home..

Down at the pool we have seen a brood of ducklings and cygnets and are awaiting the birth of a grebe (fingers crossed). The bad news is that the ducklings numbers have dwindled from 7 to now 2 and I'm told it maybe the same for the cygnets, but I suppose that is nature.

The coots have also been busy with their young.

We have also seen the parakeets have a brood of two, (we think), hopefully they have now left the nest and are finding a new home elsewhere.

On the river we have seen the dippers busily feeding their young in the nest which is safely tucked behind the waterfall.

And on a local farm the lambs were out in the field with mum.
